Congrats LA!

Archbishop Jose Gomez
As an important point of recent Catholic news, I should point out that this past Sunday, the Archdiocese of Los Angeles welcomed Archbishop Jose Gomez as its new leader. He is the first Hispanic archbishop of Los Angeles. This is actually really big news for another reason: because of the importance and sheer size of the Church in Los Angeles. The archdiocese, the largest in the United States in terms of members, has around five million members. By contrast, our diocese (the Diocese of Jackson) has around 52,000 members. Did I say contrast? I meant ridiculously stark contrast. You can read more here.
