Chrism Mass 2013

The clergy of the Diocese of Jackson along with the religious order priests who serve the missions (sometimes I don't know which is which) stand on the steps of the Cathedral as we process in for the Chrism Mass.

The chasuble, the garment over the alb, was made back in the 90's by a local seamstress. I was the model dummy for the design since I was, at the time, the shortest priest in the Diocese. It is a linen blend with an applique cross of gold on the front. Chasuble comes from the Latin term for "little house". All priests when celebrating at the Cathedral wear the same chasuble.

The albs, as you can tell, are not as uniform.
