Arabic Lesson #201

Arizona is experiencing a natural phenomena known as "haboob". The news has been reporting on it and certainly our prayers are with those affected by the weather. But it's important to get your terms correct.

Haboob: (Arabic:"هَبوب", "strong wind") is a type of intense duststorm commonly observed in arid regions throughout the world.
Habeeb: (Arabic: حبيب, "beloved") is an Arabic name meaning beloved.

So, in summary:

Haboob

Habeeb
