An awesomely Catholic weekend for Jackson

This past weekend, the Diocese of Jackson (our home diocese here at SFC) celebrated two important events:

First, on Saturday, June 9, the diocese celebrated the ordination of transitional Deacon Juan Chavajay to the Catholic priesthood at the Cathedral of St. Peter the Apostle in Jackson. SFC congratulates Father Juan on his ordination! Ad multos annos!

Then, yesterday, the diocese marked the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi). This also marked the end of a special celebratory year in the Diocese of Jackson, proclaimed by our bishop as the "Year of the Eucharist," in honor of the 175th anniversary of the Diocese of Natchez (now, of course, the Diocese of Jackson).
