Resignation and Prayers

Happier days for Houston Nutt
"After more than a year without a Southeastern Conference victory, Mississippi coach Houston Nutt will resign. The fourth-year Rebels coach will lead the team for the remainder of the season, athletic director Pete Boone said at a news conference Monday. Boone also announced that he will step down as athletic director by the end of 2012."

The news has been all over the media today about Coach Houston Nutt's resignation. It's sad when anyone loses their job but for a coach it's awfully tough because there are usually consequential firings as well. And that affects some of our parishioners.
This too shall pass but it still is a big "this". Pray for our coaches and players, please. November is a heck of a time of year to cut someone loose and it's doubly tough in this economy.

2 Timothy 4:7-8
"I have competed well; I have finished the race; I have kept the faith.  From now on the crown of righteousness awaits me, which the Lord, the just judge, will award to me on that day, and not only to me, but to all who have longed for his appearance."
